In our Beijing office, I gained some significant insights
🌏 Between 2009-2012, I found myself traveling to China quite often. ✈️ Apart from witnessing the splendor of the Great Wall six times 🏯, I was deeply involved in work there.
🌐 In our Beijing office, I gained some significant insights:
1️⃣ Working Together: Collaborating across distances can be challenging. But with clear communication and mutual understanding, we made it work.
2️⃣ Assessing Distant Teams: I realized the importance of setting clear goals 📊 and regularly reviewing outcomes to ensure our shared objectives were met.
3️⃣ Building Trust and Friendship: Relationships mean a lot to me. By getting to know our colleagues and celebrating successes together 🎉, we fostered a bond that significantly improved our work dynamic and outcomes.
Outside of my professional duties, China provided many heartwarming experiences. Amongst else I had the privilege of dining at a colleague’s grandmother’s home 🍜, playing the Swedish game “Kubb” 🪵 in the office, and exploring the Forbidden City 📸 – I even got lost in there once!
These days, I often find myself reminiscing about those times. I miss my old Chinese colleagues, and, of course, even those from Lund 😉 🇸🇪. The friendships and connections we made during those times remain close to my heart.
Did we really bring a “Dalahäst” to the office? Of course, we did! The game of Kubb added a couple of kilos to my colleagues baggage 😂
Reflecting on those years, I see a blend of professional growth, cherished memories, and enduring bonds.
