Keynote at the GESHDO customer event!

Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking at the GESHDO annual customer event. I decided to ask LinkedIn what I should speak about, and there was a clear emphasis on looking back at real learnings, rather than discussing some fluffy frameworks, etc.

So, I went ahead and created this.

I won’t reveal all the details here, but here’s a quick summary of what I touched upon. If you’re interested in speaking at our event, feel free to contact me on LinkedIn 🙂

Sometimes, I bring up this diagram and a few other stories from my background. Looking back, I didn’t realize it at the time, but my years at Sony Ericsson have significantly influenced my way of thinking. I was there when the iPhone hit us, and we never fully recovered. It was a tough situation but brought about maximum learnings!

A few more slides and I ended up with this: My daughter in the IKEA office Hubhult. This is where I established my first innovation effort called Edge Engineering. Edge has now evolved under my former colleague Albert’s steering, really impressive. I have a category here on my blog detailing some of the efforts we made. I am proud of Edge.

Moving further, I delved into what I call the ‘Niclas Innovation Framework 2.0’ during my time with The StepStone group. Essentially, I applied my learnings, expanded with dedicated M&A and DevRel capabilities, and scaled the lab. In the presentation, I delved into my thinking about the innovation repository and trigger points. Essentially, to innovate successfully, you also need to be a little bit lucky with external trigger points.

At the end, I opened up and detailed why all of this is important and detailed the pitfalls of all of this.
